With the recent updates to Google’s ranking algorithm, the SEO video game has altered. Once upon a time, a time, a website might simply focus on their titles, title tags, finding some random backlinks, and pumping out spun short articles to increase their ranking on Google.
No more.
Now Google has actually changed the game and the sites not used to playing by the ‘rules’ are going to fall by the wayside while the bigger, more relied on sites and pages dominate the web.
So how do you do SEO now?
In brief, you do not. You see all the little techniques that used to work are not appropriate anymore. For a website to stand apart it has to do whatever right and by that I indicate it should stop focusing a lot on video gaming the system and doing tradition SEO and, instead, fret about its self, so to speak.
Content, material, material! Your content should be good, it needs to be initial, it needs to be sought after, and smart or you will surely sink. Google, more then ever has put a focus on quality material and you have to comply to make it.
Write good, original material that matters to readers and make sure spelling and grammar remain in check too. Believe it or not Google looks at those things now too!
Links
You got good content, you are active on social media networks, now what?
Go and get some links! Visit websites like yours and see if they have blog rolls where you can exchange links, ask to do guest posts on blog sites or have bloggersguest post on your site. Make sure the links you are getting are from quality websites. No adult content or gambling establishment type sites. Make certain they relate to your blogs audience, and make certain you are connecting back to people.
